1st grade students listened to the story Snow Balls, by Lois Ehlert. After listening to the story, each class discussed the illustrations they saw. We used tempera paint and painted construction paper to create the snow birds college. Enjoy!

Once Upon A Starry Night...
5th grade students studied artist Vincent Van Gogh and his painting "Starry Night". They used tempera paint to recreate the famous painting and then added a short story or poem to go along with their art. Check out their masterpieces below!

January Artist of the Month
Congratulations to the following YES students who were chosen to be January's Artist of the Month!

Ceramic Unit
3rd, 4th and 5th grade students LOVED the clay unit we did in December! They learned about the basic hand-building techniques, slab, pinch and coil. 3rd grade students created coil hearts. 4th grade students created slab castles, and 5th grade students created gargoyles. Blotter bugs
Kindergarten students learned about the primary colors. We used red, yellow and blue tempera paint to mix the secondary colors. After the paintings dried, we turned our blotter blobs into bugs! Check out the Kinder-Bugs below!
